Mass Import does import the pictures. But all the images gets inverted. I had tried the inverted function even to rotate the images just in case. But invertion during import did not work. Once imported, the invert function does work, but since the acidfree album does not appear in the galleries menu (which one sees), the image disappears from the acidfree album. NAy help would be appreciated.

I do not understand your description. Acidfree has no option to "invert" images on mass import. There is a "Rotate" function in the image module, but it should not be visible during mass import - I explicitly disabled it.

At the same time, Acidfree doesn't auto-correct for upside down images the way some cameras do - if your images really are inverted, Acidfree won't change that.

1. Add a single image to an album. What side is up?
2. Do you actually see the "rotate images" option when you do a mass import?
3. Could you attach one of the images that gets inverted to this bug report for me to look at?

Thanks for your fast response. I am sorry I should have made the description clearer. I have attached here a zip file containing 3 images. One is the original image, the second one is the inverted image and the third one is the Mass Import Screen.

1. Here as you can see "Rotate Image" menu does appear during Mass Import.

2. First I did not use any of "Rotate Image" options (it was set at No Rotation) and just uploaded one image and the result is the inverted one (actually flipped horizontally and vertically).

3. I experimented with various options in "Rotate Image" later on. Counterclockwise and Clockwise options do work perfect (I understand this menu should not have been there in Mass Import), but "Inverted" or "No Rotation" option lead to the same results as mentioned above.

Please let me know if you need any additional info. Thanks again.

sunilkjain,

That mass import screen does not look right.

There should be no "image galleries" and no "rotate image" prompts on the mass import screen.

I've attached what one of my mass import screens looks like.

1. Are you sure you have the latest version of acidfree? It might be worth double-checking. There was an earlier version of acidfree that had "rotate" in mass import but it was removed because it didn't interface with the images module correctly.
2. It's possible you've got a conflict from having two different image management modules installed. What happens if you turn off the image galleries?

skj’s picture

Thanks for your suggestions. I downloaded the 6.x-1.0-beta3 version again to another site where I did not have "image galleries" module ON. I am still getting the same Mass Import screen except now there is no "image galleries" prompt.

bkat’s picture

I have 6.x-1.0-beta3 and it has the Image Rotation option list in the Mass Import UI.

mwheinz’s picture

That's interesting... I'm running the same build, and it doesn't appear for me.... hmmm....

I just did a re-install of beta3, just to be safe - no rotate on mass import.

mwheinz’s picture

But you aren't experiencing any unwanted rotations with mass import, are you?

bkat’s picture

I haven't mass imported lately but I don't think I've ever had an unwanted rotation.

bkat: Would you please try to import one image using mass import screen and see whether the image gets rotated! Thanks,

mwheinz: I will be building a brand new site in about a week and will try this module again. I will post here the outcome then. Right now I rotate the images outside Drupal before import and everything works out. It is a great module and thanks for that.

I am having the same issue. Also, I am running the most up-to-date version of the beta and have tried the the dev version and I am getting the same problem. If I import a single file using "Add an Image" I have no trouble. However, if I use "Mass Import" for one or more photos the photos are inverted or flipped up side down. There is an option on my Mass import page to rotate the photo (clockwise or counter clockwise), no rotation, & invert that appears just above the Files to Upload title. I have tried all the embedded options, but nothing is correcting the issue. It seems that there are others that are having this issue.

Since I can't duplicate the problem, I can only guess, but this patch may help - it should remove the rotate button altogether from mass import.

This is happening to me too. It has got to be an issue with Acidfree...

Did you try the patch I posted in comment #11?

My suspicion is that some module that is being used in other sites, but not in mine, is causing the rotate button to appear. I hope that patch in #11 will prevent all other modules from making changes to the mass import page.

mwheinz’s picture

1. Has anyone tried the patch yet?!?
2. Bottlefox - why do you have an image galleries selector on the same page? Using galleries at the same time as albums is quite likely to cause problems.

thebottlefox’s picture

I am having the same problem with Image galleries and without it. I don't really think that is the problem. Especially, since others are having the same issue. However, I did disable it, but the drop-down menu for image galleries didn't disappear. I wondered the same thing myself. I am eager to see if someone has tried the patch. I don't prefer to be the first person to do so.

I have try ed patch and also disabled image gallery module but still no luck. My images auto invert when i upload them .

mwheinz’s picture

You tried the patch - was the rotate button still visible on the mass import page?

See, my problem here is that Mass Import doesn't have a rotate button - it has to be getting put there by a different module.

mwheinz’s picture

uday4u,

Could you send me a copy of your site status report, so I can see all the modules you have installed? I'll install all the same modules on my test site and see if I can make the problem happen.

I can't see any other way to figure this out at this point.

uday4ru,

I see a couple of things.

1. I've just pushed out a beta4 release; it has all the changes committed since beta3. You might want to try that and see if it changes anything.
2. The first is that it says your database schema is out of date - are you sure that isn't causing problems?
3. I've never tested with "embedded media field" - I'll take a look at that, too.
4. Your status report says the imagemagick module isn't properly installed. Since imagemagick is what rotates the images, that might have an effect.

Fixed , thanks for great and fast support. This module is very helpfull for me , now every thing works perfect. This is only seo friendly gallery module with user albums for drupal .

I have updated module to latest 6.x-1.0-beta4

ImageMagick advance is not req actually , GD is working for me.

uday says beta4 fixed it.

thebottlefox’s picture

Hey guys,

I just updated to the beta4 and it seemed to improve the problem greatly, but not fix it. I still get an inverted thumbnail every 8 to 10 uploads or so. I even got one on an Add an Image upload. It doesn't do it every time and it only inverts the thumbnail. On the Mass update page the option to rotate and the Image Galleries option went away as well. At the very least the problem is manageable for now.

mwheinz’s picture

bottlefox,

All my patch does is block other modules from modifying the mass import form (which is why the rotation menu and the gallery menu disappear) - I'll do some more digging; but since I don't experience the problem I'm not sure what to do.

The fact that only the thumbnail is inverted is the weirdest part of all.
