I am trying to map an image element from an RSS feed to image field on article content type. But in the node processor source I dont see any mapping for image. Is there a way I can accomplish yhis task?

Does you the content type that you are importing into have an image field? It should be able to recognize and import images. Check the Mapping settings (admin/structure/feeds/MY_IMPORTER/mapping) in the Legend it'll show what is available. The incoming data should be a the source of the file.
