Develiconference: Moved to March 17th due to SXSW
Due to a lot of feedback the teleconference has been moved back to the 17th to avoid conflicting with SXSW, we're still looking for people interested in speaking at the Develiconference, so, get those subjects in!
I'm happy to announce that the second (annual?) Drupal "Develiconfernece" has been scheduled for March 17th. Once again we'll be offering the chance for the Drupal development community to make presentations to the community, and for new Drupal users to pose questions to the old hands.
There will be a few improvements this time, namely, the beeps that plagued the last call have been zapped, and we'll have a hand-raising feature for this call that should allow participants to ask their questions live. Once again the call will be recorded and made available on drupal.org. And of course Skype should be more stable now as well (even ChX has found his mic amplifier setting by now).
The exact time on the 17th the conference will be held, and all the speakers have not yet been finalized. This time, I'd like to give more of a chance for community input. What do you what to happen in this develiconference?
Please comment on what times would be best for you, and if you have an interesting topic you want to give to the community.

South by Southwest
I don't know if you'd consider rescheduling, but March 10 is the first day of SXSW Interactive where I'm sure plenty of US Drupal devs are going to be.
re: South by Southwest
I didn't realize we had so many film creators in our midst ;o)
But, really, I can't see a lot of the devs being out, if they are, mabey we can find a time that would allow those going to SXSW to participate as well, perhaps by scheduling it around dinnertime. I don't think we'll need to reschedule.

SXSW Interactive is no Film Conference
2.0 will be in the house!
If it's on the 10th, what time, so at least we can try to plan around it.
If it were to be moved to
If it were to be moved to the 17th, can anything think of something happening on that weekend? Do you think it's worth rescheduling? It will probably be around noon Eastern if there are no objections.

SXSW PareTech & Lullabots
I know at least two more of us from PareTech will be at SXSW Interactive and I believe I saw some of the Lullabot's scheduled to attend. A reschedule would be nice, but I'm sure we will find some way to attend.
Peace,

OK, and there is now a big front page post on SXSW, so, we're out-classed ;)
This post was only for trying to set good dates anyways, so, the 17th it is!

Thank You!
Thank you so much, this will make scheduling for us so much easier. And insures my presence and hopefully many others.
Peace,

Moving from Test to Staging to Production
I'd like to hear how people are handling this process. I just launched a site and am struggling with doing this cleanly. Thanks.

The time in Europe
I'm hoping it will be at a sane time of the day for us living in Europe (6-9 hours before New York/California). Sounds interesting though, will this basically be a conference call on Skype?

Well, I was thinking Noon NTC/EST, which would be 9AM Pacific, 1PM Atlantic and 5PM in London. But I'm not sure how that would work for the rest of the community.
Sounds interesting though, will this basically be a conference call on Skype?
Basically, Vapps provides call-in numbers, recording, and the hands feature. And there is also a free skype number. There can be up to 500 participants.

Times in Australia and New Zealand
There may be a number of us Drupal newbies from Brisbane, Australia wanting to participate too, so please take that into consideration.

Yeah, that's one of the main problems, since if it's noon here, it's midnight somewhere else. I wonder if it would make more sense to have the conference span two section, one for North America, and one for Europe and Australia.

I'd want to hear about future features & plans
I've been using, poking, prodding, and creating with Drupal for about four months now, and am just arriving at the plateau of sanguine bliss. I am using Drupal for everything. I even try to talk $500 site-facelift clients into a full-on Drupal conversion.
What I want to hear about is the plans, visions, and ideas for what D is becoming in the next two revisions. It has a stable base framework, like the trussing of a skyscraper yet without walls or floors. What are the 6.0 floors going to consist of? Is there a plan to add x feature? What markets is Drupal strongest in right now? Can Drupal actually be improved to the point where it looses functionality to beginning users? Can it be turned into an e-commerce system that rivals Miva, yet has a Site Owner's Blog that pushes products for sale that are endorsed by other, peer bloggers? I could go on and on...

You add walls and floors
Drupal core is an enabler. There are many blog posts around on what Drupal is and how it's like a LEGO set -- you can build whatever you want but it's not much in itself.

Total Newbie Here
Will this Teleconference help a newbie, or will it be over my head - ie: will I be annoying with extremely basic questions?

I think the content will be
I think the content will be good for everyone, including those starting out with Drupal, although it will mainly focus on developer content.

SoC 2007
This would be a good place for prospective Summer of Code students to get ideas from the people on the bleeding-edge of Drupal development.
going live
Robin,
any more info on the time?
thank you for organizing.
I would also be very interested in the topic of moving from test to staging to live.
one specific question, how many people have version control installed on the live server?
start time?
where do I go to figure out the start time for this baby?
