Problem Installing HelpDesk Module

garyhurley - February 22, 2007 - 16:40

I'm trying to install the helpdesk module (http://drupal.org/project/helpdesk). First off I'm confused by the version designation of "head". I couldn't seem to find a definition for "head" so I went ahead anyway. I downloaded, expanded and uploaded the helpdesk files to my /drupal/sites/all/modules/helpdesk/ directory. I then checked my Drupal admin-modules section but saw no reference to the new module. Then I found docs about updating my db schema but wasn't clear if that was an old 4.x issue or still a necessary step for 5.x. Anyway I went ahead and extended my db schema and saw three new tables (hd_contract, hd_event, hd_timeinfo, hd_user). Alas still no reference to the new helpdesk module in my Drupal admin-modules section.

I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious here but I can't figure it out. Is the "head" version a beta or something. Do I need to reinitiate something? Help!

Always worth reading some of the issues before downloading

It's always a good idea to look at the pending issues for a module before downloading it. There's a link at the bottom of the module's project page. Here is your answer from "pending issues"

Too bad, eh? I need a helpdesk too :-(
