Use unsubscribe message in footer of test message

As far as I found out:

The footer in the newsletter will be replaced by a text to unsubscribe from the newsletter, not the site footer. When you send a test newsletter the text

Footer will be appended here

will be shown and only replaced when you actually send the newsletter. The text can be found in the simplenews.module but I advice against changing something in there due to loss of your changes when updating.

When you want a footer in your newsletter you will have to include that footer in the body of your newsletter.

It would be good to have a possibility to set it so that a complete message is send as test, exactly as it will be later - just to be sure that also the merging works fine and as a help in the translation (localization) process.

Also good in case the footer message (text) has recently changed (with a new version), as it already happened to me in the past. Test was OK, but messages went out later and didn't look very professional (nice) and it was too late when I've received my copy (fortunately I am careful enough to include me...).

What is the benefit of not sending the actual unsubscribe message in a test mail, but the replacement text as above, at the end? I mean, to prevent admin to unsubscribe from the test? ;-)

The footer message in a test-newsletter has been changed in 6.x release. Hopefully this will now cause less confusion.
