Simplenews

Overview

Simplenews publishes and sends newsletters to lists of subscribers. Both anonymous and authenticated users can opt-in to different mailing lists. HTML email can be sent by adding Drupal Symfony Mailer (or Mime Mail module for D7).

Branches

4.x

4.x has a stable release that is now in use on over 3000 sites. Please read the change records in the release note for upgrade from 3.x.

3.x

The 3.x branch is still supported for sites that prefer a cautious approach or aren't ready to upgrade yet. It is not receiving new fixes and will never have support for Drupal 11. It will never have a stable release because there are some known security risks. For upgrade from 2.x see the change record.

Known problems

We advise against using Poormanscron. Use cron(tab) and cron.php instead. We use locking which should prevent sending multiple copies. However you can expect much more timing accuracy and reproducibility when using a real cron. If you want support, please setup cron first
