For same reasons new decisions all start and close at Jan. 23, 2007 and die immediately after that date. It'd be much better if the date was to-day :)

Also the datefield is not recognized as a regular date field by JS Calendar 5.x-0.3 (it opens calendar-like data selectors) and it's very useful to avoid confusion with formats on data input.
