Change the Way the preview is displayed

When a gallery is open i want all the images to display the same size and then clicking brings up the original. This is mostly already easily done. However if i use css to change how the picures are displayed it distorts the ones that dont fit. So i suggest changing it so that is like facebook. So it displays them as a background so you can adjust the size of the box and it will display that much of the image and not distort it. Great Module, if there another solution to this problem let me know.
