I only used cck and views with some creativity in templating. The "focus on" section is a simple views block who is feeded by a checkbox field in a cck content types.
thanks!!!! I used the showcase module (http://drupal.org/node/93139). It's not officialy released and i tweaked some of the code according to my need. And i'm happy with it!!!
Hi,
I love the look and functionality of the site and wondered would you be available for hire to customise the design for a site I am launching? Please email me for more details at clement.wilson@gmail.com if you are interested.
Hey, I'm sitting here in California, a Drupal newbie, trying to figure out how to make compound pages for a client. Then I came across your site, which is a masterly version of what I'm trying to do. Bravo! I'm totally thrilled by it.
I'm trying to learn how to do all this. Are there any articles or tutorials you could recommend for someone trying to understand CCK & Views?
Drupal.org!!!! here i found everything i need! I can only suggest some great module to achieve similar (and, of course, better) results: yes
cck, yes views but even pathauto, imagecache (not used in connessomagazine.it, but amazing tool to mangage thumnails scaliling, resize and cropping), taxonomy access control, cck field permissions, tinymce, og groups... Obviouvsly you have to know templating techniques (around here the are great handbook) and good skills with css and html.... i'm not a php programmer, everything there uses only little php snippets, nothing else. An no one else worked on this...
of course there are great blog about drupal: for example nick lewis ones and lullabot site are very useful!
and finally try yourself try yourself try youselef (this is my elegant technique:-)! !! views and cck are amazing and powerful tools, simple to understand in their basic but not so easay to use at their full potential (and i'm not using them at full potential :(). In handbooks section there are great examples!

Looks great!
How do you make the article nodes/teasers that show up on front page 'focus on' and on this page:
http://www.connessomagazine.it/articoli/contesto/Arte%2526Cultura
Are the cck custom nodes or did you create a custom module?
thanks

Very nice
It looks really professional. I've a question: on the frontpage, the first block seems to refresh itself every few seconds. How do you do that?
