I created a date field in the gallery content type, but the field was not added to the gallery.
Therefore I open a feature request to have the abbility to add fields to the content type which will be displayed in the gallery display.

This can be done by enabling the field in the display options.
Just tried with beta7. (I assume, that there is no difference to beta6.)

Goto Administer --> Content Types --> 'Gallery' | manage display --> Full content
Or just by visiting ?q=admin/structure/types/manage/media-gallery/display/full

Here you can enable all fields you like.

This seems to be related to #1144726: Media Types images manage display not working for gallery thumbnail view. Closing this for lack of activity.
