when i have field templates enabled, moving the fieds around betweeen the regions is getting really slow .
the ajax throbber is eating up to 100% cpu & moving each field takes around 20 seconds.

Disabling the display suite extras Field template & the problem disappears.

Hrm, yeah, there is some heavy javascript happening there and internally with #states as well. How many fields do you have, and which browser ? I'll try to replicate this as well.

i got a lot - like 30 fields
tested in both chrome & firefox

want the content type packed as a feature?

Ok, committed a small fix already:
- updated the javascript to only fire when clicking on a link
- do not use states from Drupal as well. (this means that not everything is hidden right re: the label)

This already speeds things up, but it's not perfect. There's just too many HTML send through which needs to be replaced with ajax which is just too much. The clue will be to print that field template form only once and move it around with jquery and use a hidden field. I'll do my best to include this before tomorrow evening. Time's ticking!

Attached is the first version of the patch (applies on dev, but might be working on 1.2, but not sure).

Note to self: add a test for the label quote " bug that came up in another as issue as well.
