If I accidentally started a import or deletion process. How do I cancel them?

I believe Feeds is getting really very bugy. Why it deleted all imported nodes from the very beginning. It should just delete the last import for example. Also, I cannot seem to cancel an import. Clicking cancel does not really cancel the job and if I get an error for uploading a very small file, there is no way to resume the import process. I am not sure what is wrong but it is really frustrating.

Is there a way to speed up the process?
