Is this note (from http://drupal.org/node/438698) still valid?

Once Alpha 4 is out (and, given that I forget to update these release notes, it may be by the time you read this), don't use the dev snapshot. When I am in active development mode, the snapshots are frequently broken. After Alpha 4, the dev snapshot should only be used for testing.

I wouldn't normally ask, since the note is very clear, but since there's a new maintainter for the 2.x branch after that note was posted, this might have changed.

Generally speaking, you don't want to use the development snapshot on a production site unless you don't mind taking the chance of it being buggy or something breaking when you do an update. I put that note in because, at the time, we had been well over 6 months without a release and there were tons of bug fixes in the dev snapshot. Unless you find Alpha 4 lacking something you need that is in the dev snapshot, stick with the alpha.
