The problem with showing only nodes URLs as a +1 button is that... I have tons of other pages that people cannot +1 and I find that limiting.

With a block, the problem is resolved because the block can appear on all pages (although I hide it from admin pages to avoid mistakes...)

I'm attaching a patch that replaces the [url] tag with the current page URL. It's really not perfect, but it works great for me and doesn't remove your default functionality.

Thanks for the patch, but finally I decided to offer the option by leaving empty the field (in the block settings) Then Google +1 will grab the URL via JavaScript by default

Please test it and mark this issue as fixed.

Okay, I saw the fix but wasn't too sure. I will give it a try to see that the URL is correct when left empty.
