Hey,

Can we suggest projects? I can whip up a UI, wanted to know if its possible. Ideally we can suggest modules on a couple of parameters, for example the install profile

Can you elaborate a little on the functionality you have in mind?

I am wanting to integrate with the Project Dependency project once it is ready, which will hopefully allow us to show which modules are required by the projects listed in the results, and even allow for downloading them all at once automatically.

So, I basically want to be able to give "recommendations". Say a "interesting" tab, and that can be based on your install profile.

I like that idea, and I think it would be a big help for newbies (who this project is geared towards). Perhaps reading the suggested projects from a setting for the install profile.

This is a feature request. We don't close these issues when a branch is archived or when work/focus shifts to another branch (especially when the issue is not a bug, but a feature request that applies regardless of branch) - we switch branches instead.

Worth mentioning here that in Backdrop CMS we've had a Project Browser since v1.4 (released in May 2016). We've had this issue in our radar: [UX][META] Promote certain contrib projects in project browser. where we considered the idea of introducing something like this:

The 2.x branches now have a recommended source plugin which shows an external, curated list of projects that can be controlled by the site admin or developers. So I think we can close this!
