Options:

* Incorporate something like https://github.com/scottjehl/Respond
* Use lte IE 8 -specific stylesheet with static grid. The question here is: which static grid? I am leaning towards: if static is selected, use the static grid size; else use 980px (to fit most-common window-sizes in most-common screen resolutions today).
