I want to integrate ShareThis for Drupal 7 with Panels. Unfortunately, I understand Panels too little. How would I add a hook to allow panels to move the widget around?

Currently, the ShareThis widget gets added to the bottom of a node. Unfortunately, this is below all the content and can't be placed elsewhere, (and can't take advantage of panels).

Any clues?

Hmm. That means the widget is part of hook_links I would guess.

To do it right, probably a custom content type plugin for the share this widget would need to be made, which uses a node context. In the CTools directory there are a bunch of them in the node_context directory -- the sharethis module or a glue module would need to implement plugins and then create one for the widget. Cloning one of the simpler node_context plugins to start (and being sure to implement hook_ctools_plugin_directory()) is where you'd start.
