I think this module is a tremendous effort, but several fundamental points make it difficult to setup for me and unusable for my training coordinator for our company's Intranet.

  • Questions are nodes, which causes:
    • questions show in 'recent posts' lists and search results and many other places
    • questions have individual access control settings that need configuring
  • Question types are modules. I can understand if you need the question types to be in it's own module, but why not package it with the quiz module itself? This would help the site developer locate all the files he needs to setup a quiz properly
  • Quizzes are nodes, but 'takes' are not.
    • If I wanted to construct a custom 'view' of takes, I can only select the quiz, not the 'take' instances
  • Other Requests
    • There isn't a list of 'quizzes' from the admin link, only attempts. This complicates development if I forget to add a new menu link to the quiz I'm working on.
    • Quiz results screen doesn't show scores. This would help our Training Coordinator a lot.

See attached rendering of the ideal admin/quiz page for our application. This is what I would wish for if I had a magic genie.

I hope the time I put into submitting this helps!

I can see that my post has a 'negative' tone to it. This wasn't my intention. In fact, the front-end experience for the 'quiz taker' is very pleasant, it's just the backend that cause problems for me.

Brad Winchester
