We have an extensive set of images currently uploaded to Flickr. As a part of our new website we want to make a gallery of the aforementioned images as well as our videos from YouTube using the Media family of modules.

We are creating the new site in Drupal 7.7 and have installed all required modules for the Media Family (gallery, youtube, flicker, etc)

Despite our best efforts we are unable to see the images we link. Pasting an embed url results in an empty box on the screen with a link to "view a larger image". (see screen shot) When clicking on the link one is transferred to a page where it should be but nothing shows.

the image is set to viewable by public in flickr. with a creative common license.

Any thoughts or pointers are appreciated.

Solution: Create imagesets on flickr and capture thumbnail by right-clicking, selecting "view image"; when viewing image, right click and select "save image"; besure to save the thumbnail image with a filename that exactly matches the embed code; save the captured image in the media-flickr folder in either the public or private file stream of your site, depending on which you've chosen.

The thumbnail should display automatically.

Note this process also works for youtube videos.

For YouTube (with media_youtube) I automatically get thumbnails. Is this not (yet?) supported via media_flickr?

It's possible I have the same problem. Adding Flickr URLs manually generates an URL but does not generate the actual image. The wrinkle I have is that it worked just fine when using Media Feeds, mapping the item URL (which ends up being a regular Flickr photo page URL) to the Flickr media field. So adding manually doesn't work, but automatically sucking them in does work.
