1) hook_links support [configurable, as other modules may use it]
-- edit, delete, unpublish, sticky (obviously fasttoggle does the last 2 and does them fairly well)

2) Extra views for forum moderators
-- provide views filter for 'node is in a forum I moderate'

A few tools from other forum programs that I have found useful:

Moving threads (which can be done already).
Moving comments to a more appropriate thread (commentmover module, if ported to 5.x).
Thread merging (two topics that really cover the same ground). A bit tricky.
Thread splitting (for when a topic goes in a new direction). A bit tricky.
