[subgroups-grandparent-raw] and [subgroups-parent-raw] data not in automatic alias when group node first created

When I create a group node which I make a child of another group node the automatic alias tokens for the parent or grandparent don't put any data into the url alias when the node is first created.

When I edit the newly created node the automatic alias check box in the URL path edit group is not checked. If I check the box and save the node the correct alias is created using the correct data from the subgroup tokens.

I started with pathauto-6.x-1.5 then uninstalled it and installed 6.x02.0-rc2. Same behavior with both versions.

Any idea why I should have that behavior?
