Anonymous users cannot see this page for an image (access denied)
example.com/media-gallery/detail/61/322

Which means that the custom Image Style for my gallery colorbox modal are not displaying.

You are mixing detail page and colorbox together. That is not the same.

0- Use the latest media_gallery version.

1- Can anonymous users access example.com/node/61 ?
2- Can anonymous users access example.com/media/322 ?
3- Can anonymous users access example.com/media-gallery/detail/61/322 ?
4- Can anonymous users access example.com/media-gallery/lightbox/61/322 ?
