i will attempt to display the gallery contents in a jcarousel. (including hover info & colorbox). i have no clue how to go about it yet though (well not quite true, i am just not sure what the best way is) so I would be thankful for any pointers what approach to take.

U may try Views und Views Cyrcle.
With a bit theming und some JS this should be done in 1h :)

but is there a way to retain the sorting though? (the drag and drop sorting is the feature i am after). also using views i have to rebuild the colorbox and hovertip functionality so i thought it may be possible to apply jcarousell directly to the mediagalleries (maybe with a checkbox on the gallery edit page).
