Hiding the third navigation level - without losing active item in menu hierachie and breadcrump

fifimarx - March 20, 2007 - 17:12

Hi there,

I like to create a website with a navigation which is two levels deep.
I have a third level which should not be displayed in the menu.

The user should not see the nodes from the third level in menu, he can only access through the content area.
Nevertheless the menue item from the second level (where the nodes of the third level are in menu modul assigned) should be marked as the active item within the menu. I'm looking for a solution of that problem...

Here is a link to my website:
http://s152854779.online.de/cms/produkte/kundenzufriedenheit

First menu level: "Produkte"
Second menu level: "Kundenzufriedenheit"
Third menue level: "Kundenzufriedenheitszyklus" (only accessable through the content area, should not be displayed in menu)

But the second menu "Kundenzufriedenheit" should still stay active (red).

I hope I explained that issue understandable.

I'm would be very happy about hints or ideas...

Many thanks, Andreas

Menu per role

Maybe you can use this module "Menu per role"

Hi Willemsen,
thanks for your hint. I've tried this modul:
You can hide special menu items per role, but the menu item one level above is not highlighted and furthermore you have no breadcrump. I'm afraid in my case that modul is not usefully.

Advanced Menu

It's just a shot in the dark as I am not convinced I understand what you want.. but you might wanna try the "advanced menu settings" module, which will let you disable the "appears in menu tree"... This might be enough. Have a look at : http://drupal.org/project/advanced_menu
