Yle is Finland's national public service broadcasting company. Yle operates four national television channels and six radio channels and services complemented by 25 regional radio programmes. Yle produces content in Finnish, Swedish, English, Saami, Russian and Ukrainian.
Yle's operations are financed with a public broadcasting media tax, and programming carries no advertising.
Yle uses Drupal for article creation and has two main Drupal sites for text content:
- yle.fi/aihe (almost all other content in Finnish except News, Sports, Video / Audio streaming, Tele-text)
- svenska.yle.fi (all of the content in Swedish except Video / Audio streaming)

For Drupal 7 maintained Yild and Shownid modules.
In 2004 Yle commissioned the coding of what later became organic groups by Moshe. Yle also sponsored the construction of photo gallery functionality based on a tagging system like Flickr and Del.icio.us.
