hi,
i want to setup an image portfolio.
lets take something like http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/thumbnail.htm as an example.
how do i make drupal use such a script? or a similar one (not important for the moment).

i've seen them, they don't really cut what i'm after.

how would one create a new custom view type for such a gallery?
i guess it's related to the views module, but where do i start?

i'd like to create an image gallery based on nodes -
each thumbnail will be a node, and the gallery will be a view of these nodes.

that sample was an example only, i'd like to get an understanding on how i'll be able to create any sort of gallery - or any filtering of a view to suite any need really. for the moment, i need to create a gallery :-)

Image / Image Gallery and AcidFree both provide galleries with thumbnails and full image view. In addition, I know you can also add Thickbox to Image Gallery to get a "slide show."
