I am using a Date Browser as a block, and have set the pager to "Page by Date." Since my granularity is by Day, the header automatically displays "Wednesday, October 26, 2011".

Unfortunately, my block is only 220px wide, so I would rather use a different (shorter) date format. The trouble is I can't find where you set the date format for the automatically generated header. [I know how to change formats for dates in other places; it's just this header I can't adjust.]

Sorry if this is a novice question, but I've been all over the boards, and I can't find it.

Almost same problem here: I want to change the format of the date to Weekday, Day Month, Year

Currently it is: Tuesday, November 8, 2011

What I want is: Tuesday, 8. November, 2011

This issue has come up here http://drupal.org/node/347295 and although the maintainer claimed to have introduced changing date formats, I cannot find it anywhere. Please assist.

I'm going to suggest you move to the latest code and use the Date Pager instead. The Date Browser will probably be deprecated soon.
