Currently on the Skin Apply screen, a message is printed to indicate which hook(s) are being effected by the options being set, such as, "Manage which skins you want to apply to hooks node_product_display, node."
This is good information, but it is not presented in a very user-friendly way. For instance, if I come to this page by clicking the "edit skin" contextual link on a product display page, I do not know whether my changes will effect only this specific node, all nodes of the "product display" type, or every single node on the site.

I would suggest editing the text so that it displays the node, block, views, etc. title and ID instead of the generic hook name (or something like "all nodes" or "product_display node type" as appropriate) instead of the hook name.
In addition, it could potentially be helpful to allow the user to choose, at this point, which of those three options they would like to apply their changes to (all nodes, specific node type, or specific node id). This would probably be a much more complex change than altering the description text. Let me know if I should open a separate Feature Request.
