Hello, I'd like to apply to become the maintainer or co-maintainer of the Nivo Slider module.
I currently run a number of websites which utilize a custom-built Nivo Slider module. The module is based off of the slider included with the excellent Marinelli theme. The module has a different purpose than the Views Nivo Slider module. It aims to provide a simple way to create a banner for your Drupal website.
The module provides a block which displays a Nivo Slider. Administrators can add/remove an unlimited number of slides and configure the properties of each slide (the order of each slide, if the slide links to a URL, which page(s) a slide is visible on, etc).
I'd love to be able to publish the module for others to use and improve. I plan on adding in pluggable themes and the ability to set the jQuery slider's properties using an administration interface instead of hard-coding certain aspects of the module as is currently done.
I'm also paid to develop full-time so I can provide reliable support and testing for user issues and patches. The organization I work for has a large user base so performance and usability testing are basically done naturally.
I have experience as a themer, module developer, module maintainer (Submenu Tree) and core patch contributor.
I've published the initial code as a sandbox project in case anyone is interested. It is a quick port from the module we use in production (which has a number of changes specific to our organization) but I'll try to get it polished up as soon as possible.
