Use taxonomies rather than a separate table for case states?

Issue Summary

I find it rather strange that taxonomies haven't been used over the case states table. Using taxonomies would surely make this module much more flexible for extending with views etc.? I'm finding this a great module and perfect for my clients and much easier to use than some of the other similar modules. Am hoping development continues otherwise I'd be happy to become a co-maintainer of the project.
