I saw this issue described here:

http://drupal.org/node/67038

I'm using Mailhandler 5.x-1.1 and OG 5.x-2.2 and I'm encountering the same thing.

I tried using the command -
og_groups: [zz]
(where ZZ is the home page node of my group.)

My posts showed up in the og_ancestry table, but with a group_nid of 0.

Is there a patch / fix for this, or a different command that's used in Drupal 5.1?

I don't want to head down the listhandler route. ;-(

Fwiw - Since I'm not a coder, I can offer in return to update the mailhandler documentation page (to 5.x) - including this (fixed) command, and some more details about how the fields work. :-)

Is posting to OG via e-mail still a problem? or has it been resolved?

I'm not there yet, but I did have plans on implementing OG with this e-mail reply option. I think its a good secondary choice, but for the client it's mandatory. They like using the simplest option that they know the planned low-tech users can handle.

I have been having problems with this, too. (og_forum-5.x-2.x-dev, mailhandler-5.x-1.1).
I originally posted this to the og_forum project, but it is as relevant here as there:

Is there a fix for this?

please try the patch to OG at http://drupal.org/node/136606 (this issue appears to be a duplicate of that)

@maintainer - you MAY want to mark this issue a duplicate, but as the core drupal versions differ, I won't

Yes, it is either a duplicate of that or of http://drupal.org/project/mail2og
