Another Simplenews annoying issue,

Simplenews has an annoying way to place the newsletter category terms at the very bottom of the maillist emails. Since the links are wrong I need to remove them. However there is no way to do this from interface so I decided to remove them by deleting them from admin/structure/taxonomy.

After this now I get the error: An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator.

Is there a way to take the links out without deleting them?

Simplenews doesn't enforce the display of the category.

Make sure that you haven't enabled the Newsletter category field in the manage display forms for the corresponding content type.
