chatroom module error when creating chats or chatrooms

I am developing a drupal site and I have been asked to include chat features which I have never done before. I am using the chatroom module and I have it installed and enabled. However when I create a chat or chatroom once I hit save and the screen refreshes I get the following error.

Strict warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in chatroom_view() (line 610 of C:\xampp\htdocs\sites\all\modules\chatroom\chatroom.module).

I tried googling it and looking it up on here but I was not finding anything.
