Hi
How can I edit activity log templates?
Also - what is the best way to make changes in the activity log rules?
I am asking this because I don't want my changes to go missing when I do a module upgrade.

The templates are defined by the "Log activity" actions in the default Rules that Activity Log provides. You can change them by modifying those Rules. Your changes will not be overridden when upgrading Activity Log, but if Activity Log changes the way it keeps track of template information, you will have to re-save each template you've added or modified so that Rules has the correct structure saved (your information will be preserved, you just need to hit the Submit button again). Any time you have to do this it will be announced in the release notes.

One solution is to use http://drupal.org/node/978620#comment-3763720 to alter the default templates in code.
