edit name during bulk import

Project:Acidfree Albums
Version:6.x-1.0-beta2

Category:feature request
Priority:normal

Issue Summary

Any chance you can add a feature to make the names editable before the images are mass imported? Maybe a text field that defaults with the file name text, which you can then edit.

Or better yet, take the file name and tweak it to become a "nicer" title, for example:
filename: mom_and_casey.jpg
auto-renames to: Mom and Casey
[replaces _ with spaces and doesn't include the file type]

I'm not talking about the name it saves the image(s) as, rather, the title of the node itself.

It would also be great to add a short caption to each image before bulk importing them.

This and the above feature will be a real time-saver for those of us that need to bulk import hundreds of images.

Now that I've had a look at the code (and I'm no coder) maybe this is something that needs to be added to the image module rather than this one? Confused... :$

we are going to keep the mass import captions out of this feature request. There has already been another feature request opened for that.

But this is certainly something that could be implemented.

#3

It would be easy to make the filenames nicer.. But couldnt you just use the album contents listing to edit the captions and change the titles?

#4

if you are using pathauto, editing titles after uploading can be a real pain in the a**.

#5

Well thats more of a problem with pathauto isnt it?

#6

I use pathauto as well. Whenever I change the title or move an image using album contents, I just clear out the path field, which signals to pathauto that it needs to be regenerated.

#7

About pathauto module.
I tested it some months ago and I discovered problems with generating paths to albums.
But it was long time ago.
It was done some changes about that?
