Hi,
How can I have my drupal related news be published on drupal.org?

silverwing commentedStart with http://drupal.org/node/280488 for our guidelines on promoting posts to the front page.
We don't promote every bit of news to the Front Page of drupal.org but you can add a post to our Forum.
Without reading it, I can't say if it will be promoted or not.

lameei commentedThe news is about first workshop ever in IRAN about drupal during 4th iran web festival. This is something like web award and there gonna be guests from LG, W3C and the web award.
Yes this is a local event but as drupal is not very well known here in Iran, this post would be very helpful.

gregglesto start, be sure to post the news in http://groups.drupal.org/iran
I'm not sure this should be posted to the front page of drupal.org, though it is definitely exciting news.

lameei commentedThere is not many drupal users in Iran as I said before and the proof is the number of members of the group you mentioned. Publishing news in this group will not have a major effect. Most of the people here in Iran are using joomla and wordpress. I even couldn't find someone to work for me for my own drupal projects. So I have decided to do the job and start teaching and talking about drupal. This conference is a very good start point as many geeks will attend and the front page news will be the opportunity to make this public.
Let's do this and make drupal popular in Iran too.

kingandyAs this festival is now past tense, I'm marking this issue fixed.
Do please continue to post in the Drupal forums and groups, and if you have an existing Drupal-related news feed you might think about applying to get it aggregated into Planet Drupal?
