When someone clicks to tweet my post the via is followed by two @'s and it tends to mess things up. Like the following:

Keyword Research and Your Website | The 25/8 Web Co.: http://www.258web.co/blog/keyword-research-and-your-website#.TvjyStLvZGw... via @@the258webco

Is this some error on my part in the configuration?

This is an issue in the way I setup the AddThis Twitter template. I believe I have it fixed in the latest dev version. Please review and let me know if that fixes your issue.
