mupload module development

Hi,
There is a multiple upload module for Drupal 7, mupload, which requires the plupload module. The mupload module may have been abandoned and my office is considering taking up development. There is an issue posted inquiring as to the activity status of mupload.

Because mupload is reliant on plupload, I wanted to let people involved in plupload know about the potential for further development of mupload, and also I'd like to know if there are any issues I should be aware of or if anyone has any objections, requests, support, compatibility considerations, etc.
