I've been getting errors attempting to upgrade my Acidfree installation from 4.6 to the 5.x dev version. But before I go to the effort of precisely tracking what I have or haven't done right or wrong, I thought I'd check--is this upgrade supposed to work from 4.6, or is it only designed to work coming from a 4.7 Acidfree installation? If it is supposed to work coming from 4.6, I'll double-check everything, and if I'm getting errors, I'll post them here.

Thank you so much, btw, for creating such a great module. I manage a dozen or so different sites, and all of them that do anything with photos use Acidfree. I'm very much looking forward to trying out the new version.

From what I understand, direct upgrades that skip a major version are not supported. If you want to do this, you will have to do each upgrade in series. 4.6 -> 4.7 -> 5.x.

If you're interested in my experiences, here they are. I went from 4.7.4 to 5.1. It was not smooth. First, there is a problem with the Image module that the owner will not fix. Second, I ran into fairly sever problems with the taxonomy trying to throw me into the Image Gallery module even when it wasn't enabled. I ended up deletiing all my pictures entirely; fortunately I had no user uploaded albums. Now I'm having problems getting my images uploaded again.

My recommendation is to upgrade to 4.7.6 and STOP until there is an official release of AcidFree for 5.x.
