Strange behavior with flag module's links and taxonomy views integrator

I am using taxonomy views integrator to build my taxonomies with a view that uses images and flags to let users bookmark/save the images to a personal gallery.

The normal views work fine - uses a relationship to add flags by the current user, and links display properly for saving and removing flags.

When used in combination with taxonomy views integrator, all of the flag links show up as "Save", even if they have already been saved. I'm sure this is a pretty uncommon, niche use of both flag and TVI together, but just thought I'd throw it out there if anyone knows offhand why the views relationship wouldn't work with TVI
