When uploading images through IMCE, are the Image Toolkit compression settings applied? I know that they are for fields but not sure about IMCE.

I just want to know whether to compress my jpegs before uploading.

Toolkit settings are applied when you resize or crop an image. It can also apply during upload if the uploaded image is automatically scaled down to fit the max allowed dimensions.
