My Website needs a forum moderator role to review the forum topic before it getting published (This scenario should be very common. Isn't it?). However, the moderator cannot even view the unpublished forum node (get an "access denied" message instead) unless he obtains the "administer node" privilege, which belongs to the website administer.
As you know, granting "administer node" privilege to a role outside the admin group is very risky. Is there any way to moderate the unpublished forum topic without the "administer node" privilege?
Thanks!

You could try something like the forum_access module http://drupal.org/project/forum_access, although it doesn't quite moderate each post, it simply can allow you to define moderators to each forum who can then edit/delete the posts.
Something like modr8 module allows posts to go into moderation.
