Please add to the module documentation that this module is only useful to people who are hacking old versions of Octazen and Open Inviter. Octazen was sold and is no longer available, and Open Inviter had been abandoned by its developers.

Yes Octazen has been sold to Lunar systems, however there is an open issue where people have reported that LS works with the Octazen code:

This is news to me that OpenInviter is abandoned. Their forums seem alive and well

The case you reference has a link to Lunar systems - http://nepal.lunarsys.com/12-ls-contact-importer.html - however, that domain is no longer valid. Seems the company went defunct or was a shell. I'm not sure. I did see a news posting that the guys were picked up by Facebook? If I could even find the service being supported I'd like to find it per my second comment below.

The openinviter forums are overrun with spam - yes, people have commented too, but many are reporting certain email providers are not working any more, including hotmail. The latest post from a developer is August of last year. I don't have further proof, but I've lost faith in this product (I had it installed on two sites).

are there any alt. modules that provide the same ? or can this one be extended to use other retrieval services such as Contact Mines, ImproSys, or IpInvite?
