I am trying to have Drupal create an email account from for each user after they register. Now, I have seen the "CPanel Integration" module, but it only works for 4.7. :( I am also not that familiar with editing modules (updating to them to 5.1). I read the update guide, but that is way too much for me as a newb, so I bring a new question to the table. Is there any way that after users register, Drupal can access the cpanel and create that specific user an email account?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you checked the issue query for updates to the module for D5 that haven't yet been implemented, because the patch or update is awaiting testing ?
have you contacted the developer of the module to ask if an update is planed ?
I would like to use this
I would like to use this module in Drupal 5 and are not an experienced coder but would love to learn so thats why I would like to ask some questions.
I looked at the documentation in order to understand how a 4.7 module should be ported to 5.x http://drupal.org/node/64279
It seems that, when you strictly follow the rules given in the mentioned link, everything should work out ok. Is this a correct idea?
Furthermore, I opened the Cpanel module file and search for the given strings to which you should pay attention during convertion of a module to 5.x. Although I did not search for all strings yet, it seems that most of the strings do not exist in the Cpanel module.
Considering the little information I have at the moment, it seems not such a hard and time consuming project to convert the Cpanel module to 5.x. Since this is the first time that I look more closer at modules and considering my very basic knowledge of PHP I might be completly wrong and therefore I was hoping that some of the more experienced programmers could comment on my findings and maybe could provide me with some extra tips.
any new on this module? Is
any new on this module? Is anyone trying to convert it to use with 5.1? Or is there any other module that can do the same thing?
I will try to convert this
I will try to convert this module to 5.x but I am a bit short on time at the moment. I am planing to do it within two weeks, if I am able to understand everything of course ;)
It is working
Hi all,
I have been busy with the cpanel module to port it to 5.1 . As far as I tested it everything works. When writing this post I was able to let user create their email account. Also every settings page is showing where it should be.
Please be patient till I am able to post it since I do not have any coding experience nor any idea how it works here on Drupal so I have to find that out first. Furthermore, some descriptions needs to be adjusted but I do think that everything will be online here this week.
update?
Thanks for your work on updating this module! I wanted to check to see if there was any testing or anything else you'd need to help get it ready for release.
Well, there is at least one
Well, there is at least one bug and since I am not a programmer I have not figured out yet what the cause is. I will learn PHP next month so I think that I will be able to hunt down that bug by then.
So, around the end of august it should be ready I guess.
Any news?
Hi Tmanagement ...
Any news about the port to 5.x?
Thanks,
Arkam
Hi Arkam, There is some
Hi Arkam,
There is some news. I found out that the bug existing in my port to 5.x is the same that was already in 4.7. Things is, due some time consuming factors lately I was unable to solve the bug.
Contact with the maintainer yielded no result so I suppose this module is left out in the dark. Since I am just starting with PHP it is a bit much for me but are determined to solve it unless somebody else with ample PHP knowledge would like to do it. I can provide that person with some directions and tell where the problem must lay in the code.
paying someone to finish this module
Tmanagement - are you willing to let someone else take your code and finish it up? I run a site that is waiting to upgrade to 5.x until this module is ready, and I'm willing to pay someone who knows PHP to get the upgrade done, but i don't want to step on toes.
I have uploaded the files in
I have uploaded the files in zip format and can be found at http://drupal.org/node/103336#comment-659229
