Issue Summary
I entered the Verification META tag for Google and rather than getting a new meta tag, The text I entered appear at the top of my front page visible to everyone. This because the META tags is not written along with the code.

Got it. You have to insert the hole lot:
<meta name="google-site-verification" content="the verification code" />. The verification code alone won't work.#2

I think it would be a lot easier if we could just add the verification code, and not the entire meta tag.
