Thanks for the patch. Unfortunately we are not adding new features anymore in 6--1 branch. Also, we probably need a more general solution for this. Something that covers different use cases.

Please use Nodewords for D6 sites and Metatag for D7 sites, there's no point in going down the road of reproducing additional functionality when there are other modules you should be using instead.
