Add a "view OG_subgroups" Node Tabs Permission

Project:Subgroups for Organic groups
Version:5.x-3.1
Component:Code
Category:feature request
Priority:normal
Assigned:ezra-g
Status:closed (fixed)

Issue Summary

I'd like to have a "View OG_Subgroups" tabs permission. The "Overview/Tree/Members" tabs on node views are useful, but on some sites, non-administrative users might be confused by, simply not wish/need to see these tabs which provide data-structure information. For these users, the tabs might just be clutter.

If swood and users support this idea, I will commit a patch.

Thanks!

I'm not sure really how this is a permission, but I don't know of any better way to control it. I would think that it should be controlled by role and permissions are the way to handle that. The problem is that a user (I think) should be able to see the members and structure of a group. As long as we're talking about "view tabs" and not "view members" then I think that we're okay.

The way we're using drupal, the idea of a "group" is controlled externally and assigned to you at registration based on geography. Since there will most likely be 1000 to even 100,000 people in a group (assuming subgroups), seeing who else is in the group is not very important. When people come to the site, we want the idea of who else is in the group to be hidden unless a person chooses to post an article/forum/etc, at which point they have made themselves known to the group, but only through that post.

I would rather the tabs to be visible by role. It makes sense for group moderators to be able to look up a user, etc.
