A new release would be great. Probably makes sense to keep up with Media module release schedule.

I too would like to see a new release. This module looks like it would fit my project requirements perfectly, but it doesn't jive with my later version of Media. I notice the last release was October last year, and the last commit was 23 weeks ago. Has this module been abandoned? Can someone else take it over?

I'm not even able to enable it since it's "incompatible" with numerous other modules. Sure would like to try it out.

If you are using media branch 2.x, you can go to this issue #1244204: Make media_gallery work with media-7.x-2.x branch. Marking this as closes, as I am certain a new release will come when the developers are ready to create the new release. To help speed up the process you could give a hand cleaning up the issue queue, so it is easier for the developers to see which tasks that needs to be tackled.
