I guess that you are waiting for a stable release of the Statuses module before you start on a D7 version of this module?

I will probably work on this in tandem with the Statuses to Facebook module. I hope to have an early dev release within a few weeks.

I'm looking at http://drupal.org/project/facebook_rules as a possible basis for handling LinkedIn OAuth requests as well. D7 Statuses should ship with Rules integration and the integration will be more configurable this way. I'll be handling this in parallel with #1244522: Port Facebook Style Statuses to Facebook to D7.
