I am looking for a third alternative that provides a rating of each choice between 1 and 10. This would be very helpful in evaluating stock sentiment, i.e. is this stock a good buy now, do you expect this stock to increase by 20% over the next year?, etc.

Yep, this is the third distinct mode that needs to be created at some point - it is a different method of voting from ranking and binary.

Hi Chris, could you let us know if any work has been done on this request ?

Would this basically be a binary poll extrapolated to accept X values per choice instead of a binary on/off ?

Any work done on this request will be posted here...

Anyway now that I think about it, it's more like a ranking poll than a binary poll - the ranks will just be more flexible and the aggregation algorithm can be a simple average.
